Former Manchester City midfielder, Nigel de Jong, has suggested that both Tottenham and Arsenal could both end up in the top four, at the expense of Chelsea.
Both the Gunners and Spurs won out today while Chelsea lost to Everton in a cauldron-like atmosphere at Goodison Park earlier today. It means Thomas Tuchel’s men are just three points in front of Arsenal, with Tottenham sitting just five back as well.

There are four games to play in the season, which threatens to go right down to the wire at the top and bottom of the table. And De Jong, speaking on BEIN Sports this afternoon, believes Tottenham and Arsenal are not completely out of catching Chelsea.
“They closed the gap on Chelsea. You cannot forget that. We all thought Chelsea had secured their place. It’s not undoable also for Tottenham, no? Five points is the gap with Chelsea. They need to get some points on the board, or it’s not looking good for them,” De Jong said.
Chelsea have been in poor form of late, in fairness. And while Andy Gray makes the point of Tuchel’s side having three home games, they did get hammered by Brentford a few weeks back.
TBR’s View: Tottenham And Arsenal Need To Keep Pushing
It might seem a bit of a long shot but De Jong does have a point here. Chelsea’s form is not good, and it only takes another weekend of the Blues not winning and Spurs and Arsenal getting three points, and suddenly it looks very different.
On paper, Chelsea should have enough to pick up a win or two in four games. That should secure their place.
But, in football, you never know. Any stutter from Chelsea and Spurs and Arsenal will be right onto them you’d think.
