Neymar says he absolutely loves 'incredible' Tottenham player

Neymar has told The Telegraph that he really loves Harry Kane and suggested that the Tottenham Hotspur talisman is an incredible player ahead of the World Cup.

The two men look set to lead their countries’ charges for glory in Qatar. Kane, of course, was the top goalscorer at the last tournament four years ago. And he is hoping to become the first player to win the award in successive World Cups.

Neymar meanwhile, will be looking to further cement his legacy as a Brazilian great by leading Selecao to their sixth triumph – and their first since 2002.

For many, England versus Brazil is a potential final. Should the two countries win their respective groups, they will stay on opposite sides of the draw and would only meet if they go all the way.

Neymar believes that Gareth Southgate’s men do have a chance of winning the tournament. And in his explanation, he outlined how impressed he is by the Spurs striker.

“I really forgot about England but obviously they have a chance,” he told The Telegraph. “I really like (Harry) Kane and (Jadon) Sancho. They’re two incredible players and I have a special love for them because I like players that have their qualities.”

England’s hopes are likely to rest on how Kane gets on in the big moments. He is, by far, the Three Lions’ best striker.

Obviously, Southgate’s squad boasts so much quality. Many will feel that the tournament would be a failure if they do not at least match how far they went in 2018.

But getting the best out of Kane may ultimately decide just how far England can go in the latter stages.

It is also likely that Kane will become England’s all-time leading goalscorer during the competition. He is two goals behind Wayne Rooney at this stage.

And in a group which includes USA, Wales and Iran, there seems to be every chance that the Spurs star will have taken the record by the time England – more than likely – reach the knockout stages.
