Fabrizio Romano has delivered an eight-word verdict on the future of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks. The England ace continues to be linked with a move away from the club. Now, Italian journalist Romano claims an update could emerge regarding Winks in the “next few days”.
Winks, 25, has clocked up 173 appearances for his boyhood club – but last season, he was afforded just 15 Premier League games. The signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg pushed Winks down the pecking order, and he has since struggled. A move could be on the cards in the coming weeks.
But according to Romano, that could be less than weeks. The Italian says that an update might just come in the ‘next few days’. Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Winks. Romano told his Twitch channel on Monday afternoon: “We will see in the next few days.”

Winks needs to leave Tottenham, Aston Villa is ideal
The Telegraph recently said that Villa want to sign Winks as Dean Smith continues to spend big on his side. Winks is said to want to stay at Spurs this summer, but the 10-time England ace is going to struggle to even get 30 appearances next term. Fabio Paratici is likely to sign a midfielder.
With a new midfielder coming in and Hojbjerg remaining, Winks’ game time will reduce further. If he is to do anything this summer, he needs to leave Spurs. A move to Villa is perfect for Winks, joining an ambitious side full of English talent. He would also start for the Midlands club.
