Newcastle United are looking for a new winger as Miguel Almiron potentially gears up for a move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

However, according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on Forest Fan TV, Elanga remains a big target for Newcastle, with the journalist claiming that the Swedish winger is someone the Magpies absolutely love.

Jacobs shared what he knows about Newcastle and their interest in the £15m man.

“Yeah Newcastle love Elanga and they tried to get Elanga originally in the deal for Elliot Anderson. I’m not sure Miguel Almiron will go to Saudi Arabia.

“Elanga has been a big target for Newcastle, but they’ve had no breakthrough and Forest don’t want to sell.”

What Anthony Elanga did against Newcastle last season

It’s not hard to understand why Newcastle are so keen on Anthony Elanga.

Indeed, the winger was perhaps the most decisive visiting player at St James’ Park last season in a season where the likes of Kylian Mbappe played on Tyneside.

Elanga played a key role in Nottingham Forest’s 3-1 win against Newcastle earlier this year. He set up two goals for Chris Wood, and he tore the Newcastle defence to shreds in the process.

Elanga’s pace and intensity suits Newcastle’s style to a tee, and if the Magpies can get this deal over the line, they will have an attack that is even more frightening and dynamic than it already is.
