Report: Newcastle weighing up offer for ‘unbelievable’ £30m man, just weeks after being put off by his price-tag

Newcastle United are considering whether to make a move for Leeds United winger, Jack Harrison, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

The Daily Mail reports how the Magpies have put Harrison on their list of potential signings, with a deal for Moussa Diaby proving an expensive one to get over the line. It’s believed Leverkusen are demanding around £60m for Diaby.

Newcastle’s consideration of Harrison comes just weeks after reports suggested they’d been put off by the £30m asking price Leeds put on the winger’s head. Harrison was a key player once again for Leeds last season and with Raphinha looking likely to leave, Jesse Marsch won’t want to lose two wide players at once.

However, should Newcastle be willing to stump up the cash for Harrison, it could be too tempting for Leeds and Marsch to turn down. After already adding a number of big money signings, Leeds could well see Harrison’s sale as another chance to freshen things up.

Lauded as ‘unbelievable‘ by Kalvin Phillips for his final day heroics, Harrison has made a big impression since turning his loan spells with Leeds permanent. After not quite making the grade with Manchester City, the winger has become one of the league’s most exciting performers on his day.

It would seem strange of Marsch to allow both Raphinha and Harrison to leave the club. Leeds would go from having two of the most exciting wingers in the league on the books, to having nobody or just new signings to fill the void.

Harrison has been superb in recent times and he is one of Leeds’ best players. Capable of producing both goals and assists and putting fear into defenders, there is a reason why Leeds have asked for £30m for Harrison.
