And so it begins. Talk of who Newcastle will sign this summer is underway with the club looking more and more certain to avoid relegation.
The obvious plus point there for the Toon is it opens up new avenues in terms of player recruitment. PIF will now be able to flex their muscles and look for some big guns to arrive in the northeast, and according to one report, German legend Thomas Muller is on the radar.

GiveMeSport reports how Newcastle would love to bring Muller to the club this summer if the can. Muller, who has over 100 caps for Germany and 42 goals, has had a hugely successful career at the very top of the game.
GMS claims Newcastle have Muller on their radar. However, there is likely to be an acceptance he would be one of the trickier deals to do, given his affinity with Bayern and the fact he is now 32. Nevertheless, it’s claimed the Toon does want top level experience bringing in too.
TBR’s View: Muller To Newcastle Would Set Tongues Wagging
He might be 32, but Thomas Muller is a world-class operator. In fact, that’s exactly what former Germany striker Mario Gomez called him once. He’s won an abundance of trophies, including the World Cup, two Champions Leagues, and as things stand, will capture his 11th German league title.
Of course, Newcastle will find this one tough to do. But it’s the sort of name and signing Newcastle will be linked with now down the line. If they did pull off signing Muller, then it would send a huge, huge message.
