Newcastle United are determined to sell one of their top stars this summer and are holding talks over what could be a double exit, TBR Football understands.

The Magpies are getting busy in the transfer market and are close to doing a deal to bring in Will Osula from Sheffield United.

However, there is also a feeling that exits are needed as well to balance the books and allow further spending.

And TBR Football now understands that talks are underway to move two players on to the Saudi Pro League.

Newcastle in talks to sell Miguel Almiron and Kieran Trippier

TBR Football understands Newcastle United have held fresh talks with the Saudi Pro League over potential deals for Miguel Almiron and Kieran Trippier.

Almiron has long been linked with a move to the Middle East and Newcastle are expecting to move him on in this window and they would prefer that to be before the Premier League starts in just over two weeks.

Newcastle are working on bringing in a new right sided attacker/attacking midfielder and Almiron’s departure will tie in with that.

Trippier is a player that Eddie Howe would ideally like to keep but it is understood the England international is open to one more major move.

As previously revealed Bayern Munich and Turkish giants Galatasaray hold an interest, but so does the Pro League.

However, the Pro League are not going to be paying huge fees for either Almiron or Trippier.

Newcastle paid around £20m to sign Almiron in the first place and he has become a favourite among the fans at St James’ Park.

Trippier, meanwhile, has been integral to the rise back to European football but after a poor season last term, is on the chopping block.

Newcastle will be keen to get their money back and potentially more on both players.

Whether or not those sorts of fees are forthcoming from Saudi, remains to be seen.
