This summer saw Newcastle United make it very clear that Rolando Aarons was no longer wanted at the club. The winger was not given a squad number by Rafa Benitez after an injury-plagued few years at the club.
The winger, once linked with moves to the top six, played just ten times over a two year period for Newcastle before being sent on loan to Hellas Verona. That loan spell ended in relegation and this summer he was again told he could leave.
However, finding an interested party was touch. Transfer windows soon started to shut and Aarons was still with the club. In the end, it was Czech outfit Slovan Liberec who took a punt on the talented 22-year-old.

However, five games into his loan spell and Newcastle will not feel they have made a mistake.
Aarons has struggled with his new club. He has no assists and no goals from his first five games. After starting his first three games for the club he was dropped recently for Tomas Malinsky. He has only managed substitute appearances against FC Zlin and Slavia Prague in Liberec’s last two fixtures.
The winger seemingly has no future at Newcastle United and needs to impress on loan to find himself a new permanent home in the summer. At the moment, he is failing to do that.
