Newcastle United are happy to cash in on star man Allan Saint-Maximin this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The 25-year-old is a huge favourite with the Magpies faithful and he seemed to be one of the few Newcastle players who were guaranteed to form part of the club’s new era, following the lucrative takeover.

But the Mail report that PIF would be prepared to sell the mercurial Frenchman for around £50m.

The money recouped from signing the Toon Army’s number 10 would then be added to Eddie Howe’s summer budget to bolster his squad with signings.

Would be a surprise to see Allan Saint-Maximin leave Newcastle

Although Aston Villa are reportedly among the clubs who are monitoring how Saint-Maximin’s situation on Tyneside unfolds, there is no denying the former Nice man has been the club’s best performer since he arrived at the club.

Capable of producing a moment of magic with his dazzling dribbling skills and blistering pace, the mercurial Frenchman is a matchwinner who would be difficult to replace.

Only Callum Wilson (6) has scored more goals for Newcastle this season than the seven-time French Under-21 international (5) and no player who dons the black and white jersey has produced more assists than Saint-Maximin (3).

Saint-Maximin’s contract at St James’ Park doesn’t expire until the summer of 2026 and it would be massive surprise to see him sold this summer.

But with Newcastle’s owners reportedly wanting to add £60m to their transfer budget via player sales, Saint-Maximin could be the man sacrificed to ensure Howe can sign more players to improve his overall squad.

Saint-Maximin hasn’t started any of the last six Premier League games as his return to action from a calf injury has been carefully managed.

Newcastle United fans will likely be hoping that there is no truth in the reports that Allan Saint-Maximin could be moved on this summer, but it does look like that could be an increasing possibility.
