Achraf Lazaar has hit out at Newcastle United for not utilising him during his time at the club, as he seeks an exit from St James’ Park.
The Moroccan international had an injury disrupted campaign on loan at Cosenza last season after failing to secure regular football at Newcastle following his 2016 move from Palermo.
Despite his troubles at Newcastle, it was reported by the Chronicle at the end of last month that Lazaar was willing to return and help solve Newcastle’s problem at left-back.
However, the report claims Newcastle told the £35,000-a-week defender to remain in Italy and train alone, a decision said to have bemused the defender.
It was believed that Lazaar might have had a second chance brewing at Newcastle following Steve Bruce’s arrival, as the Magpies boss previously had him on loan at Sheffield Wednesday. But that did not turn out to be the case.

Now, the 28-year-old has made it clear he is trying to leave Newcastle and cannot understand why things have gone so badly for him on Tyneside.
“We’re negotiating. It’s a team that hasn’t valued me as I deserved and I don’t think it would do it this year, Lazaar told TuttoMercatoWeb. “I feel ready, fit, ready to play. It will be my year. And whoever takes me does bingo, because I am charged and motivated. And everyone knows what a player I am.
“I do not know. Really. Certainly not for technical reasons, I have always been one hundred percent professional. Maybe in the first few games I had to adapt. But thanks to this experience I have matured.”
The 17-cap international cost a reported (Sky Sports) £2 million when he arrived in August 2016 but never got going at the club.
But he has played just 10 times for the club with the club signing Jamal Lewis from Norwich City this week, he would have a very slim chance of regular football at left-back.
