Newcastle United continued their Premier League preparations last night with a 3-1 victory over Hibernian.
The Magpies did fall behind thanks to a Stephen Mallan goal. Strikes for Joelinton, Sean Longstaff and Jamaal Lascelles ensured a routine win, however.
Steve Bruce must hit the ground running when the season gets underway in just over a week.

He has arrived at St James’ Park against a backdrop of disgruntlement from the club’s supporters.
The born-and-bred Newcastle manager has the impossible task of trying to replace Rafa Benitez, who was adored in the North-East.
Bruce has taken difficult jobs in the past, however, and as the consummate professional he will surely relish the challenge.
Following last night’s win, he dropped a big hint over one area of his team selection.
Speaking to Chronicle Live after the game Bruce hinted at Martin Dubravka staying at the club.
He said: “Dubravka is fine. He’s at home. It was always our aim to give the two other lads 90 minutes.

“Martin will be in goal on Saturday. He is our number one and will remain so.”
The £38,000-a-week (Spotrac) stopper was ever-present in the league for Newcastle last season and adhered himself to supporters with his quality performances.
Following Bruce’s intention to keep the 30-year-old as the club’s number one, the club’s supporters took to Twitter.
