Signing Jude Bellingham could help Newcastle get over failed Che Adams deal

The Birmingham youngster is on the radar of the Magpies this January.

Newcastle United have made a decent start to life under the management of Steve Bruce. The Magpies currently occupy 11th in the Premier League, despite some expecting a season of struggle.

Rafa Benitez left the club in the summer and many thought that would see Newcastle spiral down the table.

That hasn’t been the case though and Bruce appears to be doing a pretty decent job.

The January transfer window can’t come soon enough for Bruce, however, with injuries stacking up somewhat.

In the summer, Newcastle added a couple of decent additions but more signings are required to keep the club ticking along.

One man who the Magpies missed out on in the summer was Che Adams. According to Team Talk, the club wanted the striker before he eventually signed for Southampton for £15 million (BBC).

Bruce could be about to return to St Andrew’s for another potential deal. Jude Bellingham is set to be a wanted man and Newcastle are keen.

The 16-year-old has been a regular in the Championship this season, playing 22 games and scoring three goals.

Bellingham is typically a central midfielder, although he has been utilised on the right, left and further forward by Pep Clotet this season.

Newcastle could forget about their missed opportunity with Adams if they were to sign the Stourbridge-born youngster.

Bellingham is comfortable on the ball, strong in the tackle and boasts maturity beyond his tender years.

If the Magpies were to land Bellingham they would secure a deal for one of the country’s hottest properties. As a result, they would sign a player with significant sell-on value.

Interest is likely to be high in Bellingham and Newcastle will need to act quickly if they want to land the prodigy.

The Blues prospect has a long way to go and there is a lot of potential still to unearth.

Bellingham could become far better than Adams though and it’s definitely a signing Newcastle should pursue.
