Newcastle United could look to hijack Crystal Palace’s transfer move after they rejected multiple bids for Marc Guehi.
The Tyneside club are desperately looking to add a centre-back to Eddie Howe’s squad before the transfer window slams shut at the end of August.
But Crystal Palace have rejected four bids for Marc Guehi from Newcastle United after they set their sights on the Euro 2024 star.
Newcastle were even willing to break their club transfer record with a £65million offer, but Crystal Palace have stood firm and rejected all offers.
Now looking for Marc Guehi alternatives, Newcastle have shown an interest in Edmond Tapsoba but Bayer Leverkusen are not eager to lose the 25-year-old defender.

Newcastle interested in Crystal Palace target
If Tapsoba is unavailable, Newcastle do not have to look far to find their next alternative.
According to German outlet Kicker, Newcastle are in the running to sign Leverkusen defender Odilon Kossounou.
The 23-year-old is also a target for Palace after they agreed a £30million deal to sell Joachim Andersen to Fulham.
The report adds that an offer from England has arrived for Kossounou worth 45million Euros (£38million).
Newcastle United get their revenge
After being frustrated by Palace in their pursuit of Guehi, Newcastle can now get the perfect revenge on their Premier League rivals.
Both clubs now find themselves in the market for a new centre-back and Newcastle could muscle themselves in front of Palace in the race to sign Kossounou.
They are running out of time to sign a top-class centre-back and Fabian Schar’s red card on the weekend has only added to the urgency.
