Newcastle United will not be pursuing a move for Andy Carroll. According to The Mirror, Newcastle will avoid moving for free agent Carroll because Steve Bruce is happy with his current options.
The Magpies have lost top scorer Ayoze Perez this summer as he joined Leicester City. And Salomon Rondon – who was pivotal to Rafa Benitez’s playing style – has joined Dalian Yifang after his loan spell expired. With Joselu leaving too, Newcastle lost three strikers.
But Dwight Gayle has returned from his loan spell at West Brom and Joelinton has signed from Hoffenheim. With Yoshinori Muto also on their books, Newcastle have decided to stop looking for new strikers.
Carroll was an option as Newcastle were reportedly interested in an emotional reunion. The former England striker, 30, is still a free agent after leaving West Ham. His time in East London was dogged with injuries.

But Carroll will not be heading back to Tyneside. Bruce is content with his current crop of strikers and wants to target a new right-back instead. Here are some tweets from Newcastle fans discussing this.
