Newcastle United have signed Emil Krafth, the club’s official website has announced. Krafth signs a four-year contract at St James’ Park after signing from Amiens for an undisclosed fee.
The Sweden international, who played against England at the World Cup, becomes Newcastle’s fourth summer signing. He follows Joelinton, Allan Saint-Maximin and Jetro Willems to St James’ Park.
Krafth has spent time in Sweden, Italy and France during his career. He signed for Amiens on loan last season and made 35 appearances to convince the Ligue 1 club to snap him up permanently from Bologna.

But he has already departed on a permanent transfer after Newcastle won the race for him. Krafth joins Steve Bruce in the North East as Newcastle enter a new era after Rafa Benitez’s departure.
The 25-year-old will compete for the right-back spot with DeAndre Yedlin and Javier Manquillo. Newcastle could let a player leave now that Krafth has signed up.
Newcastle fans flocked to Twitter after Krafth joined but opinion was divided on this signing. Here are some tweets from Toon supporters following the arrival of Krafth.
