Liverpool defeated Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield last night to secure a shock spot in the Champions League final. The Reds overturned a 3-0 deficit from the first-leg to book a place in the Madrid showpiece.
One of the stars of the show was Georginio Wijnaldum. The Dutch international came off the bench for an injured Andrew Robertson at half-time. He went on to score two goals in quick succession as Liverpool pulled off a massive shock.
It was a contribution that Newcastle United fans fully appreciated.

Newcastle brought the Dutchman to England back in 2015 from PSV Eindhoven. He impressed during his one season at St James’ Park. Unfortunately, they were relegated and Wijnaldum headed off that summer.
He joined Liverpool in a deal reported by Sky Sports to be worth £25 million in 2016. He has since gone on to be a more defensive minded midfielder but Newcastle fans remember how impressive he could be in attack. It was that side of his game that was on show last night.
Fans of Newcastle applauded their former player last night after his antics and will no doubt wish him the best in the final.
If Tottenham can turnaround their tie with Ajax, then it could be a Wijnaldum v Moussa Sissoko final. Both players were relegated that season with Newcastle. What might have been for the Magpies with the right manager…
