Newcastle target Nicolas Tagliafico would be a huge capture
Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez will reportedly have cash to spend in January regardless of a proposed takeover and one of the key areas he wants to strengthen in his squad is at left-back.
According to the Mirror, Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico is one of the full-backs high on the club’s radar for the New Year.
It’s unclear on if the Magpies can snatch the 26-year-old away from Dutch giants Ajax, but he would be a phenomenal signing if they pull it off.
Tagliafico is a left-sided flyer best renowned for being an attack-minded left-back and is a key player for Ajax right now.

Tagliafico has made 23 appearances across all competitions so far this season, scoring four goals and supplying five assists in return.
The speed machine frequently bombs down the flank and he would light up St James’ Park if he could be tempted into a Premier League switch.
Newcastle currently have consistent performer Paul Dummett as their main left-back option, but there is no doubt reported target Tagliafico would be a step up in class.
Benitez is a world renowned manager that has worked with some top-class players and he would surely be pivotal to any potential swoop for Tagliafico.
