Newcastle United are reportedly one of several clubs to show interest for in-demand Leyton Orient centre-forward Macauley Bonne.
According to the Sun, Leicester City are currently leading the hunt for the non-league sensation grabbing the attention of elite clubs.
It is understood that Premier League quartet Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Huddersfield are also keen on the 23-year-old
The report details that Bonne is valued at around £500,000 and Championship clubs Norwich, Stoke, Nottingham Forest, QPR and Sheffield United are also sniffing around.
Leyton Orient’s striker is certainly the talk of the town and Newcastle should take a gamble on him for such a minimal fee, with the fairytale path of Jamie Vardy from non-league to Premier League champion proving that the step up in divisions can happen.

Bonne is currently playing in the fifth tier of English football in the National League, where he’s scored a brilliant 16 goals in 24 games.
The Zimbabwe international managed 22 goals in all competitions last season too for Leyton Orient and most believe he’s capable of playing at a much higher level.
Newcastle are in desperate need of forward reinforcements in January to their squad and adding a natural finisher to the ranks at St James’ Park for a bargain fee makes sense.
It would surely take take for Bonne to adjust and could well turn out to be a step too far, but it has to be worth the gamble for Rafael Benitez at his price tag.
