Newcastle United need to pull out all the stops to try win the reported race to sign attacker Garry Rodrigues from Turkish club Galatasaray.
According to Turkish newspaper Hurriyet, the 27-year-old will be available to leave Galatasaray in the January transfer window, as they look to adhere to financial fair play rules.
But the report details that the Magpies will have competition from La Liga clubs Valencia and Villarreal for his signature.
It is understood that the Cape Verde international will join one of the three teams midway through the season and Rafael Benitez’s side have to try ensure St James’ Park is his new home.

Rodrigues is a speed machine that would sprinkle some extra quality in the final third at Newcastle and be a major signing in January.
The left-winger has Champions League experience under his belt and has already scored in the competition this season.
He’s also chipped in with a couple more goals in the league for Galatasaray and his threat in front of goal is exactly what Rafael Benitez’s side lack.
Newcastle’s main weakness for the last 12 months has been in front of goal and they need to try bring in players that can hit the ground running in that aspect.
