Valentino Lazaro’s agent has told Italian outlet Inter Dipendenza that his client’s future is up in the air, with a permanent clause yet to be activated in his permanent Newcastle United contract – and Toon supporters have reacted on Twitter.
Lazaro, 24, joined Newcastle on loan from Inter Milan in the January window – just a handful of months after joining Inter last summer. He has since managed five appearances for the Toon, scoring in a 3-2 FA Cup win over West Brom.
Somewhat outspoken, the versatile Lazaro has previously stated he wants to return to his parent club. His agent, Max Hegmayr is equally as outspoken – discussing the Austria international’s future on numerous occasions.
His latest comments state that he is unsure over Lazaro’s future, despite Italian outlet TMW claiming that Inter Milan are confident Newcastle will cough up the £21.5million permanent clause to sign Lazaro in the summer.

“Valentino has a contract with Inter. He was sent on loan to Newcastle but then the virus arrived. Future? We will see what will happen later,” Hegmayr said, when asked if Lazaro would be joining Newcastle on a permanent basis.
Lazaro’s versatility could come in handy – given he can play on both flanks and either side of the defence. Wingers are needed, as are full-backs with Javi Manquillo leaving, and both Danny Rose and Jetro Willems only on loan.
Newcastle supporters, though, are unsure that a move for Lazaro on a permanent basis would be a decent option. Indeed, many think he will return to Inter Milan in the coming months.
