Chris Hughton has been sacked as manager of Brighton and Hove Albion as reported by the BBC.
The former Newcastle boss saw his side narrowly avoid relegation, finishing in 17th place after a wretched run of form after the turn of the year and paid with his job the day after the season ended.
Hughton is renowned as one of the good guys of football and some Magpies fans appear to have an affinity for him – after the job he did at St James’ Park and the way he was sacked abruptedly in 2010.
There are some on Twitter who feel that lightening has stuck twice and took to the internet to show their support for the former Republic of Ireland international.

They feel that the Seagulls are setting themselves up for relegation next season by getting rid of Hughton, who has them playing an organised if uninspiring brand of football.
We’ve taken to Twitter as the Magpies support have waded in to support Hughton after what they feel is another unfair sacking…
