Newcastle United have reportedly extended the contract of on-loan midfielder Daniel Barlaser after impressing on loan at League One side Rotherham United – and Toon supporters have reacted on Twitter.
Barlaser, 23, has spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at League One side Rotherham United. Managing 35 appearances for the third-tier side, he has been a driving force in their push for promotion.
Promotion is very likely for Rotherham as they remain in second place following the global health crisis. Barlaser has been key to that, earning rave reviews from loan manager Shola Ameobi. He has scored twice and created five.

The Daily Mail state that Newcastle agreed an extension of his contract in March, which will now see him on the books until June 2021. Steve Bruce is said to be willing to give Barlaser a chance in the first team next season.
Barlaser, who has played three times for Newcastle’s senior side, could be promoted to the first team as a replacement for Matty Longstaff who nears the Toon exit door. However, a Championship loan is also an option.
Newcastle supporters reacted on Twitter to the news that Barlaser could be a part of the Toon’s first team next season after agreeing an extension for at least another 12 months – and many are optimistic.
