Newcastle supporters react as club linked with Napoli midfielder Allan

Newcastle United are reportedly willing to splash a whopping £35million to sign Napoli midfielder Allan this summer asthe club’s prospected owners begin to identify possible signings – and Toon supporters have reacted on Twitter.

Allan, 29, has impressed for Napoli since joining the club from Udinese in the summer of 2015. Since his move, the holding midfielder has clocked up 200 appearances in all competitions, establishing himself as one of the best in anchors in Serie A.

Italian outlet Area Napoli have claimed that Everton are also interested, given Allan worked under Carlo Ancelotti during his time at Napoli. But the report states that Newcastle are keen and are willing to make Allan their second most expensive signing.

Newcastle are well stocked in the middle of the park. They boast on-loan midfielder Nabil Bentaleb, the Longstaff brothers, England international Jonjo Shelvey and the versatile Isaac Hayden. But additions are expected.

It is clear that Napoli is being used as a pool of talent for Newcastle’s potential new boardroom. Dries Mertens was one of the first players linked following reports of an impending takeover, while Kalidou Koulibaly is also said to be a target.

Newcastle supporters reacted to the news that they are rivalling Everton for Brazilian midfielder Allan, and many feel as though the Brazilian would be a top addition for a side that promises to have a completely new look next season.
