Newcastle striker offered to another club despite Alexander Isak exit, Aston Villa move collapsed

Newcastle United waved goodbye to Alexander Isak on deadline day and could still offload another striker.

A dramatic deadline day ended in the way many expected as Alexander Isak joined Liverpool.

Isak has been trying to leave Newcastle United for weeks, but Liverpool left it late to push the Swede’s signature over the line.

After finalising his move to Anfield, Isak has said goodbye to Newcastle fans, though he hasn’t received much love in return.

Newcastle snapped up Yoane Wissa from Brentford and will hope to see him replace Isak alongside new signing Nick Woltemade.

Newcastle United forward William Osula offered to Ajax

Eddie Howe will have a new-look strike force at his disposal this season, having also allowed Callum Wilson to leave over the summer.

Newcastle may yet complete one more attacking outgoing – even after Isak’s exit.

De Telegraaf’s Mike Verweij reports that Newcastle forward William Osula has been offered to Ajax as a potential signing.

The English transfer window may have closed, but the market in the Netherlands only shuts on Tuesday night.

Ajax are in the market for another striker and are looking to re-sign Kasper Dolberg from Anderlecht.

A deal for the Dane has proven elusive so far, and Osula has been offered as a possible solution.

It’s unclear whether that proposal has come from Newcastle or Osula’s representatives, but a St James’ Park exit could still materialise, almost 24 hours since the Premier League market closed.

William Osula’s Aston Villa move was scuppered

Osula started for Newcastle against Leeds United over the weekend, but the Magpies seem willing to let him go.

Reports on deadline day suggested that Aston Villa were close to signing Osula, but UEFA spending rules scuppered the deal.

Villa missed out, and Osula looked set to join Eintracht Frankfurt instead, with a £30million deal lined up on deadline day.

Newcastle negotiated a buy-back clause as part of the deal, but Osula then saw his move to Germany collapse as well.

Osula’s future at Newcastle still looks unclear, and it’s unlikely that Ajax are the only club to have been offered the chance to sign him.

The transfer window is still open in countries such as Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, meaning a Newcastle exit could still materialise even after Villa and Frankfurt missed out.
