Newcastle United were widely praised for their signing of Callum Wilson, and today the star proved the move was an absolute no-brainer.
His two goals against Everton at St. James’ Park means he now has six already in the Premier League after seven games.
Last term, Newcastle’s highest goalscorer in the Premier League ended up being Jonjo Shelvey with six.

Wilson was expected to score goals for his new club, but there were probably few who anticipated this kind of start.
The ace has looked so sharp and always appears to be in the right place at the right time to poach.
Many expected him to get more than the six Shelvey finished 2019/20 with, but few would have thought he’d have gone level with him quite this quickly.
Ultimately, it just emphasises how good a deal it was for the Magpies to land him for a reported £20 million (BBC Sport).
TBR’s View – Wilson has already obliterated his price tag
He was always likely to make his price tag look cheap, but Wilson has pretty much justified the money spent already.

He is absolutely the player the club have been crying out for since their return to the top flight in 2017.
To have finished last season with Shelvey atop their Premier League goalscoring chart was a huge indicator of Newcastle’s main issue, but they now have a reliable centre-forward and while he’s in the team, the Magpies have a chance top finish in the top half and maybe even win a cup.
