Newcastle United star Allan Saint-Maximin has hilariously replied to a Manchester United fan on Twitter after The Toon produced a memorable 1-0 win over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side on Sunday afternoon.

Both Solskjaer and Steve Bruce were under enormous pressure coming into Sunday’s clash, with Bruce picking up just five points from seven before the match and Solskjaer’s side performing well below expectation.

But it was Bruce that came out on top at St. James’ Park, his first win as a manager in 23 attempts against his old side – in what was his 400th Premier League match as a manager. Bruce’s selection of Matty Longstaff completely paid off.

Indeed, 19-year-old Longstaff scored the only goal of his game in his first Premier League start – alongside brother Sean. Saint-Maximin responded to a Tweet from a Manchester United fan after the game, that was sent to the Frenchman beforehand.

TBR’s view – Saint-Maximin looking a bargain for Newcastle

The Chronicle claimed that Newcastle had spent just £16.5million to land the effervescent winger and his form for the Toon so far has been excellent. Breaking forward, he picked the perfect moment to find Jetro Willems.

Willems’ quick feet laid off Longstaff who powered home the winner, but it was Saint-Maximin’s powerful run from inside his own half that created the goal. The Frenchman is a bargain for the Toon, and already a favourite for his antics on Twitter.
