Newcastle United summer signing Allan Saint-Maximin was unstoppable for The Toon on Saturday afternoon as Steve Bruce’s side beat West Ham United away from home – and now he has just endeared himself to the Toon faithful even more.
A £16.5million signing from Nice in the summer, 22-year-old Saint-Maximin ruined Pablo Zabaleta during the first half as The Toon took a 3-0 lead – only to concede two second-half goals scored by Robert Snodgrass and Fabien Balbuena.
Not only has Saint-Maximin starred since joining Newcastle, he has become an enormous hit for his attacking-based performances, headband and activity on social media. His latest Tweet will have endeared him to The Toon faithful.
A Sunderland fan mentioned his lack of goals at Newcastle, with Saint-Maximin yet to find the back of the net despite having two golden chances to score against West Ham. Saint-Maximin replied, though, with a brutal comeback.
On Saturday, Newcastle had to rely on defenders Ciaran Clark and Federico Fernandez to find the back of the net while Jonjo Shelvey also scored a free-kick. Steve Bruce’s front three – Saint-Maximin, Joelinton and Miguel Almiron – have scored a combined total of just one goal.
However, the trio remain highly thought of among the Toon fans so far, and Newcastle supporters were delighted with Saint-Maximin’s latest Tweet.
