Liverpool centre-forward Divock Origi has been on the radar of Newcastle United ahead of the January transfer window.
According to the Chronicle in October, Rafael Benitez made contact with Liverpool about the situation of their striker.
The 23-year-old has been on the fringes at Anfield so far this campaign and made just three first-team appearances, but did recently score a dramatic last-minute win against Everton in the Premier League.
ESPN now report that Liverpool have rejected a loan offer from Galatasaray for Origi.
Newcastle should be intrigued as the report states the Merseyside club have ignored Galatasaray’s approach because they want to keep him nearer to England.
Benitez should be first in the queue when the January transfer window opens in January and try to bring him to St James’ Park.

Origi has made a colossal impact in the very little time he’s had so far this season, but previously showed he’s a goalscorer during his time at Liverpool and has also enjoyed success elsewhere.
The Belgium international has had strong spells at Lille and Wolfsburg in the past and there is every chance he could succeed in England.
He is a powerful striker that has the qualities to lead the attack by himself and is also a tidy finisher.
Newcastle need some extra firepower in the final third for the second half of the season and should be boosted by the report that Liverpool want to keep him in England.
