Things are currently complicated at Newcastle United.
The club are reportedly still in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan about a possible takeover, while Rafa Benitez’s future remains unclear.
The whole situation appears to be taking centre stage as everybody would expect.

So far, there has been no activity this summer regarding transfers at St. James’ Park, and fans will be hoping to see a resolution to everything soon.
A player who Newcastle were interested in back in January, might well be available for transfer.
Gregoire Defrel was the subject of a £13 million offer from the Magpies according to Corriere dello Sport.
TBR’s view
According to Tuttosport (via Calciomercato), Defrel’s parent club AS Roma are considering taking Gonzalo Higuain this summer.
Juventus are after Nicolo Zaniolo and apparently want to offer the Argentine striker as makeweight.
Higuain signing for Roma would make opportunities hard to come by for Defrel, who scored 12 goals in 39 games on loan at Sampdoria in 2018/19.

If Roma sign Higuain, perhaps it opens the door for Newcastle to pounce.
The club need attacking reinforcements and the sharpshooting Frenchman could be just the ticket, especially with the club seemingly stalling over Salomon Rondon.
