Newcastle United should consider moving for Internazionale midfielder Joao Mario in January.
The star hasn’t made a single appearance for the Nerazzurri this season, with Marcelo Brozovic, Matias Vecino, Radja Nainggolan, Roberto Gagliardini and Borja Valero fighting it out for the starting spots in Luciano Spalletti’s midfield.

Last season of course, Mario went out on loan to Premier League side West Ham United, where he fared well enough.
He proved that he does have things to offer, such as creativity in the final third
He made 14 appearances for the Irons, scoring a couple of goals and making one assist.
Could he do a job for Newcastle?
Mario proved during his short stint at the London Stadium that he can be effective in the final third and frankly, Newcastle are crying out for someone who can make things happen in that specific area of the pitch.

The Magpies are seriously struggling at present and haven’t won a single game this season, having scored just six goals in nine games.
Last weekend’s home defeat to Brighton was hugely disappointing for the fans, who are already worried about the fate of their club this season.
Newcastle need someone who can play in front of Jonjo Shelvey and Mo Diame and cause problems for opposition defences. Ayoze Perez has tried to operate as the number 10 this season but it hasn’t really worked out.

The Spaniard is better out wide or up top.
Mario is an actual attacking midfield player, who needs a new club. St. James’ Park could be an ideal fit for him, and Rafa Benitez will have seen him up close in Serie A as Napoli manager, as well as the Premier League last season.
Surely Inter wouldn’t demand too much money with him so low down in the pecking order; maybe Benitez could even enquire about an initial loan deal.
