Rafael Benitez has reportedly started drawing up plans for the summer transfer window at Newcastle United.
According to the Daily Star, the Magpies boss wants Salomon Rondon on a permanent deal plus he’s eyeing two signings that are in a similar price range to Miguel Almiron.
The North East club splashed out £20million (BBC) in January to sign electric winger Almiron and bring him to St James’ Park.
With Benitez’s plans reportedly known, Newcastle should turn their attention to Spanish midfielder Victor Camarasa.
The 24-year-old has been excellent on loan at Cardiff City this season from Spanish club Real Betis and shown he can make an impact in the Premier League.
According to Marca, Betis are willing to offload their Spanish playmaker at the end of the season and he could be snapped up for as little as £12.9million.
The report details that he’s got a release clause of £20.6million, with the likes of Everton, West Ham, Leicester City and Tottenham all potentially keen on him.
Newcastle should join the hunt for Camarasa and splashing out the near-£20million fee they did for Almiron on him makes sense.
Camarasa has been a shining light for a Cardiff side that sit in the relegation spots right and has the technical ability to play at a higher level.
He’s a versatile ace that can play anywhere across the midfield and has an eye for goal too.
The playmaker has five goals and three assists in just 28 games for Cardiff, but could achieve so much more with better players around him and is exactly the type of target Newcastle should look at.
