Here are all the stories from Newcastle on transfer deadline day.
Emotional return for Carroll
The headline story is the return of Andy Carroll. The 30-year-old striker has signed a one-year deal with his boyhood club, eight-and-a-half years after leaving Tyneside.
Carroll is a free agent after leaving West Ham at the end of his long-term contract. His time in East London was hampered by constant injuries but Newcastle fans will hope he can stay fit.
Krafth pens permanent deal
Emil Krafth has joined Newcastle on a four-year deal after an undisclosed fee was agreed with Amiens. The 25-year-old played over 30 games for the Ligue 1 club last season and he has also played in Sweden and Italy.
DeAndre Yedlin and Javier Manquillo will compete with Krafth for the right-back spot. But the Swedish defender will be hoping to take the starting jersey under Steve Bruce.
Murphy leaves on loan
Jacob Murphy has agreed to join Sheffield Wednesday on a season-long loan deal. Bruce has loaned the 24-year-old to his former club, who play in the Championship.
The ex-Norwich winger has failed to live up to the hype since joining Newcastle. After spending last season on loan with West Brom, he will have another campaign in the second tier.
Lazaar to follow but Colback to stay?
Achraf Lazaar has been spotted in Italy ahead of his proposed move to an unnamed Serie A club, as per The Chronicle. The same report adds that Jack Colback will not be joining Nottingham Forest.
