Newcastle United are still looking for a new manager. Rafa Benitez recently announced his departure and has since joined Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang.
The Magpies continue to search for their replacement for Benitez. According to The Telegraph, Quique Sanchez Flores is on their list of potential replacements.
Newcastle could bring Flores back to England, three years after he left Watford. Flores recently left his post as manager of Shanghai Shenhua after just six months so he is available.
The Spaniard will not cost any money in compensation which makes him an attractive prospect. But there are other options on Newcastle’s managerial wishlist.

Newcastle are yet to approach Flores and will also consider Burnley manager Sean Dyche. Frenchman Laurent Blanc and Manchester City assistant Mikel Arteta are two other options.
Patrick Vieira and Arsene Wenger were also on Newcastle’s radar. However, both Frenchmen have ruled out taking the job at St James’ Park this summer.
Is Flores the right fit?
Whoever succeeds Benitez will have a tough act to follow. Benitez produced impressive results at Newcastle despite being under-funded and under-resourced.
If Flores comes in, he will have a tricky job on his hand to immediately catch the attention of the dressing room despite the departures of Ayoze Perez and Salomon Rondon.
But Flores had a good record in England, guiding Watford to a mid-table finish and the FA Cup semi-final. However, he will be working on a shoestring budget under Ashley and there will be a ceiling to his success unless there are changes behind the scenes.
