Newcastle United are one of the clubs to have been offered the chance to sign Jeff Hendrick following the midfielder’s departure from Burnley, according to a report from the Chronicle.
Steve Bruce will be hoping to bolster his squad in the coming weeks after finishing 13th in the Premier League last season.

But unfortunately for those fans who may have been dreaming of record-breaking deals for marquee names, it appears that Newcastle may have to be a little more realistic with the players they target this summer.
It remains to be seen if they actually show any interest in Hendrick. But the Chronicle has suggested that the Magpies are one of the clubs to have been approached about a potential move for the 28-year-old.

The reports have divided some of the Newcastle fans on social media. Hendrick has previously been linked with AC Milan, according to the Chronicle, but that has done little to excite some sections of the fanbase.
Some believe that the Republic of Ireland international would be a remarkably underwhelming addition to Bruce’s squad. And they will not be overly encouraged for the rest of the window if their first signing of the summer involves a free transfer.
On the other hand however, there are some who think that Hendrick would actually be a decent signing.
He has been a good performer since his move to Turf Moor. And following the end of Nabil Bentaleb’s loan and the uncertainty over Matty Longstaff’s future, some think that he would not be a bad addition.
