Newcastle United are offering Dwight Gayle to Championship clubs without the need for a loan fee, according to a report by the Daily Telegraph.
West Brom and Nottingham Forest are named in the report as two interested parties as Gayle has struggled for gametime this season having excelled at the former last term.
But the Magpies will apparently insist Gayle’s £60,000-a-week wages are paid in full by any suitor and want them to agree to a £20 million purchase clause in the event they are promoted to the Premier League.
That £20 million would apparently be paid in two £10 million installments, but it remains to be seen whether any of the second tier clubs chasing promotion would go for that.

TBR’s View – These teams want Gayle to help them get up, would they pay £20m after he’s done that?
Many of the Championship’s promotion chasers are looking for that elusive goalscorer who can make the difference between now and May.
That’s why Gayle is in such high demand. He showed last season he can score goals in the second tier.
But in the event that his loan club get into the top flight, his work is essentially done.
Newcastle want to engineer a deal which essentially forces a promoted club into making Gayle their first-choice striker in the Premier League, given the money involved.
Will any Championship club really agree to that? It makes it a much riskier move, especially given the fact Gayle has had his injury problems this season.
