Newcastle reportedly in talks over 'incredible' attacker, same agent as Trippier and Wood
Newcastle United have already signed two players in the January transfer window.
Kieran Trippier has bolstered Eddie Howe’s defensive ranks, while Chris Wood will look to get the Magpies goals.
Now, the Magpies have been linked with an “incredible” attacking player who’s also part of CAA Base.
That player is Nantes star Ludovic Blas, a player who’s said to be on par with some of Liverpool’s biggest talents.
According to the Daily Star, Newcastle are in talks over the 24-year-old.
As well as the St James’ Park outfit, Watford are apparently also hoping to land the Frenchman.
Blas is one of Ligue 1’s most exciting players, and has some impressive statistics to match.
Blas has made 20 appearances in all competitions this season, and has bagged eight goals and an assist.
Last season, he got an impressive 10 goals and five assists from 36 Ligue 1 appearances.
Blas also recorded the most successful dribbles in the 2020-21 Ligue 1 campaign with 80.
In addition, has completed the fifth-most dribbles in Ligue 1 since the 2017/18 campaign.
Blas is also very versatile and capable of filling in multiple positions for Howe.
As shown on Transfermarkt, he has played all over midfield, on the flanks, and even up front.
“Nothing to envy” the likes of Coutinho, Firmino, Salah and Mane
Pedro Chirivella, his Nantes teammate, has even claimed he’s as talented as the likes of Mohamed Salah.
“When it comes to pure talent, I rate Ludovic Blas above all others,” Chirivella told French magazine So Foot, via the Daily Star.
“I played with Coutinho, Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, I know what they are capable of.
“And when I see what Ludo is doing in training or in games, he has nothing to envy them when it comes to talent.
“He’s incredible, spectacular, and his future looks bright.”
And best of all, Blas might not even be that expensive – Lancashire Live reported in November that he has a £10million price tag.
As far as Newcastle transfer rumours go, this one certainly has legs.
A top talent playing for a modest club, boasting a reasonable price tag, and sharing the same agency as two players who’ve just joined the Magpies.
