Newcastle United have once again been linked with PSV Eindhoven’s Ibrahim Sangare in recent days.

Eindhovens Dagblad has claimed that the Magpies remain ‘concretely interested’ in the 24-year-old.

The Dutch outlet – via Sport Witness – claims Leicester are also up against Newcastle for Sangare’s signature.

The Ivory Coast international has established himself as one of the best players in the Eredivisie this season.

As a result, it’s no surprise that the likes of Newcastle are reportedly eyeing him.

ED, however, have claimed that PSV want the ‘absolute top price’ for Sangare should he leave this summer.

That said, their valuation of the midfielder is still relatively affordable for a leading Premier League suitor.

They reportedly want at least €40m (£34m) for him, a fee that would make him the most expensive departure in the club’s history.

At the moment, no clubs have made a move, but Newcastle and Leicester have Sangare in his sights, added ED.

Eddie Howe and his Magpies have done superbly to drag the St James’ Park outfit to safety this year.

The summer transfer window presents an opportunity for Newcastle to bolster their ranks significantly.

And Sangare would be a superb acquisition for the Tyneside outfit at a reasonable price.

PSV coach Roger Schmidt has deemed his player “unstoppable”.

Meanwhile, PSV legend Aad de Mos recently told Voetbal4U: “Sangare is better on one leg than Leicester’s midfield.”

And African journalist Alpha Balde told Goal.com in 2018: “Physically, he’s like Yaya Toure but he reminds me of Michael Essien.

“I saw Essien at the start of his career and they had the same physical strength at an equal age.”
