Newcastle United are among the cluster of clubs chasing Dutch international midfielder Donny van de Beek this summer.
According to the Chronicle, who quote Dutch journalist Marcel van der Kraan speaking to Sky Sports, the Magpies are keen on the 22-year-old midfielder, who had an outstanding season with Ajax as they won their domestic title and came within a whisker of the Champions League final.
He said: “This is probably the biggest chance of a move happening. If I had to put my money on a player leaving, it would definitely be Donny van de Beek.

With a host of clubs in the chase for van de Beek, the chances of Newcastle getting him look slim, especially with the current chaos behind the scenes.
Their main hope would likely be that if he is seen as a potential backup at richer clubs, Newcastle could convince van de Beek to come to the north east and be the main man in central midfield.
But that doesn’t look especially likely – even if the Dutchman does look likely to be on the move somewhere this summer.
