Newcastle United are reportedly preparing a January offer for Roma’s Jordan Veretout.
The Magpies are currently on the lookout for players to bolster their ranks in the January transfer window.
Newcastle are struggling near the bottom of the Premier League table.

However, their recent takeover means they have a sizeable war chest going into the transfer window.
The Magpies could really do with reinforcements in the middle of the park.
According to French outlet Footmercato, Newcastle have firmly set their sights on Veretout.
The 28-year-old is a regular for Roma, having missed just one Serie A game this season due to suspension.
He has an impressive four goals and five assists from 18 league appearances in 2021-22.
In addition, Veretout has won five caps for France after making his debut in September this year.
The former Aston Villa man is a versatile, hard working, tenacious and technically superb midfielder.

Veretout, who has also played for Fiorentina, Saint-Etienne and Nantes, can play in central, defensive and attacking midfield.
Last year, former Nantes ace Benoit Cauet told 20 Minutes: “He’s one of the best midfielders in Italy right now.
“He’s Roma’s hub, the leader of the team. He’s really exploded with his performances for the side.”
Veretout cost Roma around £15.8million in 2020 and Transfermarkt currently values him at £27million.
He’d certainly bolster the Newcastle ranks and also has invaluable experience of Premier League football.
However, as he’s currently playing for a team challenging for Europe, the Magpies have a difficult job on their hands if they are to sign him.
