Newcastle United are ready to offer Callum Wilson a new contract, according to a report from the Daily Mail this weekend.
The striker returned from injury towards the back end of last season and he is seen as a key player for Eddie Howe heading into the 22/23 campaign. And while the Mail reports that Jack Harrison could be the next player Newcastle try and sign this summer, there is also a line about Wilson’s contract.

Despite having two years left to run on his deal, it’s reported that Wilson could be in line for fresh terms as the Toon look to tie down the England striker for the long-term. Described as a ‘top class‘ player by Eddie Howe last season, it’s easy to see why the Toon want Wilson’s future sorted.
Wilson has been a revelation ever since making the leap into the Premier League and has more than 60 goals to his name at this level, 20 of which have come in the black and white of Newcastle.
Newcastle signed Wilson from Bournemouth for around £20m and has reaped the rewards of what now looks like a bargain buy.
TBR’s View: Callum Wilson New Contract Key For Newcastle
Signing new players and adding quality to the ranks is all well and good for Newcastle United. But they need to also ensure their top guns stay put, and Callum Wilson is certainly one of their best players.
Keeping Wilson and building the team around him is crucial. He’s shown his class time and again and with better players around him, you’d imagine he’ll only improve even more.
Expect to see Newcastle dish out a nice long-term deal for Wilson here. If they don’t, they run the risk of losing a top Premier League striker on the cheap next summer.
