Newcastle United didn’t have the busiest of summer transfer windows, and that’s left them with some glaring holes in their squad.
Newcastle failed to sign Marc Guehi in the summer, therefore a new centre-back is still needed, while the Magpies could also do with a new right winger.
With all due respect, Jacob Murphy isn’t the type of player who should be starting for a team looking to get back into the Champions League.
Luckily, Newcastle do have some plans in mind to bolster that position.
Anthony Elanga was a target for Eddie Howe in the summer, but that deal didn’t go ahead, and now, Newcastle are looking at another Premier League winger.

Newcastle interested in Bryan Mbeumo
According to Simon Bird, speaking to The Mirror, Bryan Mbeumo is a player Newcastle are looking at signing.
The journalist says that this would be a big-money deal, but he also claims that this is a priority position for the Magpies and that they are certainly looking at signing the attacker.
“The other target position, which is right wing, Bryan Mbeumo at Brentford, 25 years old, ripping the place up at the minute. Big money deal that Newcastle would certainly be looking at and that’s certainly one of their priority positions to try to spark up that attack,” Bird said.
Mbeumo is wanted by other clubs
Newcastle are interested in signing Mbeumo, and they’re not the only club looking at the Brentford star.
Indeed, Arsenal have been credited with an interest in Mbeumo lately, while Liverpool are also said to be keen on the winger.
It’s not hard to understand why these top teams are so keen on the Brentford ace.
Mbeumo has been flying in the Premier League so far this season, netting six goals in eight games, and at the age of just 25, he has plenty of room to grow and improve even further.
Mbeumo has been doing the business for Brentford for a long time now, and it may not be long before he finally gets a move to one of the Premier League’s big clubs.
Newcastle could be the ideal destination for Mbeumo if he decides he wants to take the next step in his career.
