Newcastle must secure Kenedy permanently and then land Hudson-Odoi

Newcastle United should be taking steps to sign Kenedy on a permanent deal from Chelsea – and then snap up Callum Hudson-Odoi on loan.

The Brazilian endured a tough start to the 2018/19 season, but started to come good for the Magpies before the international break.

Rafa Benitez should asking Chelsea if he can sign Kenedy permanently.

Last season he showed his quality in Newcastle colours after joining from Chelsea in January.

It can be argued that he’s done enough to warrant a permanent move, and if Newcastle were to successfully secure that, it would leave them free to go after Hudson-Odoi.

Current Premier League rules state that clubs may not sign two players on loan from the same club at the same time.

If Kenedy was signed permanently from Chelsea, obviously they would then be free to go for Hudson-Odoi.

Why should Newcastle sign Hudson-Odoi?

Newcastle could do with a player like Hudson-Odoi, who is one of the most promising young English footballers out there at the moment.

The starlet, who has only just turned 18, has shown flashes of brilliance for the Blues this season, but it’s clear he has his work cut out if he wants to get into Maurizio Sarri’s first-team just yet.

According to West London Sport, the Blues are ready to allow Hudson-Odoi the chance to go out on loan in a bid to get regular game time.

Newcastle’s wide options aren’t stellar at the moment.

Kenedy looks like he’ll be able to hit the levels he did last season and Matt Ritchie always puts a shift in, but Josh Murphy and Christian Atsu have left a lot to be desired.

Hudson-Odoi is scarily fast and direct, and would provide that fresh impetus the Magpies could really do with for the second half of the season.

Benitez must use his Chelsea links and bring a Kenedy permament move and Hudson-Odoi loan switch to fruition.
