Newcastle United could be set for a positive deadline day with Antonio Barreca and Miguel Almiron already arriving at the club.
On the club’s official website, Newcastle announced the signing of Barreca on loan from Monaco with an option to make that deal permanent.
And attacking midfielder Almiron followed Barreca to Newcastle, the official website announced.
But there could also be an exit for one of Newcastle’s key men. According to TEAMtalk, Matt Ritchie is unsettled and wants to leave Newcastle.
This would be a major blow for the Magpies as Ritchie is exactly the type of character that you need in a relegation battle.
The Scotland international is versatile and he has not complained about being made to play at left-back on numerous occasions this season.
He also possesses quality on the ball with an impressive left-footed delivery from set-pieces, open play and from the penalty spot, as proven by his winning goal against Manchester City.
But most importantly, the 29-year-old has established a strong relationship with the fans because of his passionate and dedicated performances in black and white.
Losing Ritchie would be a killer blow for Newcastle, who are only just starting to move away from the relegation zone.
