Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has posted on Twitter after returning to the grass as he gets closer to recovering from his long-term hamstring injury – and Newcastle United ace Nabil Bentaleb has sent a message to Kane on Twitter.

Bentaleb, 25, left Spurs in 2016 initially on loan – joining Schalke. A year later he completed a permanent move and had remained with the Bundelsiga side until the January window, when Newcastle brought him back to the Premier League.

Indeed, the Algeria international played alongside Kane for Spurs, clocking up 66 appearances in all competitions. With Kane looking to return to fitness in April, Bentaleb and the England skipper could face eachother on May 2 at St. James’ Park.

Kane, meanwhile, is close to returning to full training. He posted on Twitter a video of himself back on the grass, looking sharp with a ball at his feet. The next step will see Kane join his teammates on the training pitch.

Spurs will desperately want Kane back as soon as possible, given that Steven Bergwijn has been ruled out with what looks as though will be a lengthy ankle injury. Son Heung-min and Moussa Sissoko are also sidelined.

Bentaleb sent Kane a message after the England striker posted on Twitter, stating he is looking forward to going toe to toe with the Spurs ace when the two sides do battle in less than two months’ time.
