Although it may have come as a surprise, it seems Newcastle United will have to sell a player or two this summer to balance their spending.
Eddie Howe’s side have approached their recruitment very sensibly in recent years despite their big influx of money.

However, the club reportedly need to increase their revenue streams with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules in mind.
That being said, it’s widely believed that Newcastle will now be willing to sell players this coming summer, providing it’s at the right price.
And whilst the likes of Alexander Isak or Bruno Guimaraes seem firmly off limits, other candidates are emerging.
Despite all of his goal-scoring for Newcastle in the Premier League, it seems the club may be willing to sell Callum WIlson in the summer.
According to The Athletic, the £20m striker is perceived to be a player who still holds decent value at this stage of his career.
And despite how well 31-year-old Wilson dovetails with Isak, his injury issues are proving a problem for Howe.
Newcastle need a dependable alternative to the Swedish international, and Wilson is too often missing.
Newcastle may be willing to sell Callum Wilson this coming summer
Should Wilson depart Newcastle in the summer, it would certainly be interesting to see which kind of profile they targeted.
Strikers could be at a premium in six months time with all of Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea also thought to be in the market.

Perhaps Callum Wilson could attract one of those names, however, they would probably have the same concerns over his injuries.
It certainly wouldn’t seem a bad idea for Newcastle to hold tight on Wilson despite all this talk, he’s still an ‘incredible’ goalscorer.
But similarly, fans will likely understand if the club saw it as the best choice.
And when considering other players Newcastle could sell this summer, it seems they could be tempted to double their money on a midfielder signed back in 2021.
