News emerged last week in The Mirror that Rafa Benitez will be urged to sign younger players should he sign a new contract with Newcastle United.

The Magpies are currently in 13th place in the Premier League, with an identical record to this stage last season.

The Spaniard is yet to sign a new deal, although these reports suggest that his brief regarding transfers will be clear.

One man who looks set to move to the Premier League in the summer is Chelsea youngster Mason Mount.

According to The Sun, Bournemouth will lead the chase, although nothing is concrete in that sense.

The 20-year-old has scored six goals and contributed three assists for Derby County this season.

Frank Lampard’s hopes of keeping will evaporate in the summer, however.

If Mount is on the market then Newcastle should be right at the front of the queue for his signature.

Sean Longstaff recently emerged as the next big thing at St. James’ Park and the team will be built around him next season.

Whether Chelsea would actually be willing to sell Mount remains to be seen, although a loan might actually suit Newcastle better.

If the club’s hierarchy wants younger players recruited, then they should look no further than the Chelsea starlet.
