Newcastle United have “made their move” for Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey, according to Dean Jones.

The Magpies have a busy January transfer window ahead of them as they look to bolster their ailing ranks.

Newcastle need high-quality new recruits to aid them in their fight against Premier League relegation.

And Ramsey is a fairly realistic target, given Juve are actively trying to offload him in the transfer window.

The 31-year-old has made just five appearances in all competitions for the Italians this season.

And Massimiliano Allegri has admitted that Ramsey is likely to leave this month.

“Ramsey, he returned today after we had given him a few days off to work, to train separately, in England,” Sky Sports quotes him as saying.

“In any case, he’s an outgoing player.”

Jones, writing on GiveMeSport, has claimed that Newcastle “know” Juve are willing to let Ramsey go for cheap and have made an approach.

“From what I’m told, Newcastle have made their move for Aaron Ramsey,” he wrote.

“They know that Juve are willing to let him go in this window for almost nothing.”

Ramsey joined the Italian giants on a free transfer from Arsenal in July 2019.

The Wales international penned a four-year deal reportedly worth £325,000 a week.

Ramsey has made 70 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring six goals.

He has also won 71 caps for Wales and scored 20 goals.
