Newcastle United host Manchester United on Saturday night at St James’ Park – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are demanding that attacker Ryan Fraser is recalled to the starting XI for the Premier League fixture.
Fraser, who joined the Magpies in the summer, was used as a substitute in the win over Burnley before the international break and he played 90 minutes in the previous fixture during the Carabao Cup victory over Newport County.
A selection of Newcastle supporters on social media have made it clear they want to see the 26-year-old back in the team and it would be his first league start of the season if he’s named in the side.
Fraser proved his top-flight quality during his time with former club Bournemouth and is currently trying to force his way into the team since his move to Tyneside.
The left-winger is a speed machine that has caught the eye in his appearances for his new club, but unfortunately for him he’s got teammate Allan Saint-Maximin ahead of him in the pecking order as he usually start in a wide left position.
Manager Steve Bruce could have the option to include both players in his XI as both have the versatility to play several attacking positions and it will be intriguing to see if he finds room for Scottish flyer Fraser against a fragile Man United, who were annihilated 6-1 by Tottenham before the international break.
