Newcastle fans want Miguel Almiron dropped against Wolves

Newcastle United host Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter want Miguel Almiron axed from the team.

The 25-year-old attacker has started every Premier League game so far this season and been an ever-present since Steve Bruce took charge as manager in the summer.

Almiron moved to St James’ Park in January and failed to score or assist in his 10 appearances during the last campaign.

The Paraguay international is still yet to be directly involved in a goal in a further nine games this season and is not living up to his £20million (BBC) price tag.

He is a winger that has shown he’s got lightning pace and can dribble quickly, but is end product has been non-existent so far and he’s lacking confidence in front of goal.

His spell at Newcastle is his first taste of European football and he desperately needs a goal to get some confidence.

Almiron is yet to be dropped to the bench in a league fixture during his time in the North East, but his time is surely running out to keep maintaining his spot.

The 25-year-old could be replaced by the likes of Christian Atsu or Dwight Gayle in the forward positions if the manager wanted a fresh look.
