Newcastle United were utterly dominant for much of Saturday’s match against Crystal Palace at St James’ Park, but couldn’t find the crucial breakthrough.
Rafa Benitez’s side have become a decent attacking force on their own patch and showed that again against the Eagles, who were fortunate to still be in the contest by the time Wilfried Zaha burst into the home box with ten minutes remaining.
DeAndre Yedlin came over to deal with the nippy wideman but his change of direction was just too quick for the American, who clumsily brought him down.
Luka Milivojevic is one of the best penalty takers in the Premier League and made no mistake, leaving Newcastle to lick their wounds and wonder how they didn’t come away with all three points, let alone lose the game altogether.

Newcastle fans took to Twitter to show their ire at Yedlin, who Spotrac claim earns £30,000 a week, for his poor challenge and some seem to view him as something of a liability who will continue to cost his side.
But Mike Ashley’s underinvestment in the side means that Benitez doesn’t have too many options with which to replace him.
